90s' Milkmaid

August 01, 2016

Off-the-shoulder tops are probably one of my new favourite trends. And when my love for the overall/pinafore trend is still also alive and well during this summer, you best believe that I'd be putting those two together for a look that may or may not resemble a milkmaid. Throw in those savvy Birkenstocks and a touch of denim from my pinafore dress: if that doesn't scream for a throwback to the 90s' trend, then I don't know what will. Granted, I was born during the end of that decade, and a fetus wouldn't know what a pair of Birkenstocks were, my fascination for all things during the early 90s' stemmed from the walls of my mother's wardrobe. So I'm still calling myself a 90s' child. Fight me.

Call them man-sandals, call them whatever. Cool kids wear them because they look great (truly, deeply, sincerely). And as much as I'd like to claim myself as a cool kid because that's what all children want these days, I'm not (I'm far from it). I wear them because I have flat-foot and they have the world's most comfortable support. But also because they look great too. I actually do love them. They're my babies.

And no, this post is not sponsored by Birkenstocks, much to my dismay. - A

(Kudos to myself for shortest but most length-appropriate post ever?)
